This is only my 4th post and already two weeks have gone by with no update! My excuse? I’ve been in Denmark for the past 10 days. I’m staying the remainder of this month and will return home with plenty of posts about this gorgeous country so don’t you worry.
Let’s continue with my current theme of the month: being a tourist in my own backyard! The Lake Shrine Meditation Gardens serves as the perfect hidden oasis in the middle of Los Angeles. To be more specific, it’s located in Pacific Palisades right off of the Pacific Coast Highway.
I wouldn’t consider myself a spiritual person and I have honestly never meditated before so don’t let the name of this place or their funky website steer you away! If you’re looking for a quiet spot away from the chaos of Los Angeles, this is your place. If you’re like me, just bring your camera, a diet coke, and a book (or in my case… Kindle) and you’re all set for one peaceful afternoon in paradise. Or, you know, as close as you can get to in the middle of the city.
This spot isn’t just for locals looking to get away. I found tourists walking around as well and I can see why. If you’re taking a road trip up the Pacific Coast Highway this would be a great scenic stop. It’s also right near beautiful beaches and the popular Getty Villa so you definitely won’t run out of things to do around here. Did I mention that it’s FREE? Now you really have no excuse not to visit.
