I must admit, out of the four days I was in Brussels, I only went out to explore for maybe 8 hours… total. Totally despicable, I know. But hear me out! By this point I had already been in Europe for over three weeks, visiting friends in London, participating with Vaughantown (more on that next week!), and exploring Madrid and Barcelona. It’s a really hard life, I know. I was lucky enough to stay with a friend while visiting Brussels which meant relaxing, only leaving the apartment for meals, and just catching up with each other!
However, no matter how long I’m in a new destination for, I always tell myself to simply… go for a walk! Forget the over planned itinerary, lists, and maps. You can leave those behind in the hotel for one day, or even one hour! On my last night in Brussels, that is exactly what I did. Okay, so I might have had my friend guide me around her favorite spots but it still counts! We didn’t use a map, I promise.
It did not take me very long to fall in love with Brussels while on our evening stroll. I’ll stop babbling on and let you see for yourself why I’m already dying to plan a trip back…
Which photo of Brussels is your favorite? Have you ever visited this city before? I’d love to know so leave a comment down below! Although I didn’t get to see much of Belgium’s capital, I did have an amazing time exploring Bruges, Ghent, and Antwerp. But more on that soon!
