Every traveler is different. Some attempt to see every popular tourist attraction while others prefer to experience a destination from a local’s perspective. I find myself somewhere in between the two.
Recently, I returned from a 3 week trip in Denmark where I stayed in a charming seaside town just 20 minutes outside the city of Copenhagen. The people I traveled with decided to participate in a house swap (more on that in another post!) which allowed us to settle into a Danish house and experience day-to-day life in a wonderful neighborhood.
Despite living like a Dane for most of the trip, there was one touristy item I had to check off my list. A canal tour through Copenhagen is something I’d recommend to any traveler passing through this beautiful city. Copenhagen is so vibrant and colorful. You can really see the city come to life in the summer while sailing through the canals. You’ll experience a great mix of architecture from the old buildings in Nyhavn to modern masterpieces such as the Royal Library and Opera House.
If you’re not yet convinced, let me take you through a photo tour of my canal trip.
I hope your enjoyed the tour!
