A Luxurious Stay in the City of Lights – Hilton Opera Paris

As the famous phrase goes – Diamonds are a girl’s best friend! If I were to change that phrase to accurately describe my feelings, it would go “A luxurious hotel is a girl’s best friend.” Okay, it’s not as catchy but just stick with me please. I will be the first to admit that it’s very rare for me to stay in a chain hotel, let alone review it. However, there are exceptions to everything in life and the Hilton Opera Paris Hotel is not your average chain hotel!

A few years ago, Hilton Hotels restored this historic 19th century building and transformed it into a truly grand Parisian hotel. Its magnificent Haussmann-style facade wows any person passing by, but the grandeur and opulence doesn’t end there. The moment you pass through its doors, you’re greeted by the lovely Hilton staff and an even lovelier interior. Your eyes will immediately be drawn to The Grand Salon which is easily the most beautiful room in the building.

Fun fact: The hotel was built in 1889, same year as the Eiffel Tower, for the World Exposition! The Grand Salon in particular was built to impress visitors from all over the globe and I think it’s safe to say it continues to do that to this day. It would be way too easy to spend all day dining, chatting, and “working” on my laptop in this beautiful room, but my own room was calling my name!

Before I begin gushing over my room, I need to quickly share a couple details about the hotel’s fabulous location. The Hilton Opera Paris is actually the only Hilton Hotel in the City of Light’s city center… so you know they picked a winning location! You’ll find the beautiful 19th century Gare Saint Lazare train station directly behind the hotel which is so convenient for anyone looking to hop on the metro to go anywhere inside or outside the city. But if you prefer to walk, there are iconic sites and attractions within easy reach, including the famous Opera Garnier, Louvre Museum, and luxurious department stores such as Galeries Lafayette and Le Printemps.

Travel tip: If you want that fabulous view of Paris you see in my photo above, head to the 7th floor of Galeries Lafayette for sweeping views of the city…. it’s free too!

We were lucky to stay in an executive room which was ever so spacious and elegant. One thing that immediately caught my attention was the wallpaper behind the bed. Seeing images of the Eiffel Tower and others bits of the unique Paris skyline was a treat and also a great reminder of where I was! I always appreciate the standard modern amenities, like outlets by the beds or a rain shower, but I loved the Parisian touches throughout the room as well.

Despite being on a very busy street in the center of Paris AND right next to a train station – my room was completely silent. Thanks Hilton for investing in double (or maybe triple?!) pane windows! I also was very thankful for the glorious heated floor in the bathroom. This was a luxurious touch that was unexpected but so, SO appreciated. Note to self: in my dream home… there will be heated floors.

There are two things I always expect from a good European luxury hotel and that is complimentary wifi THROUGHOUT the hotel (that’s key!) and complimentary breakfast for all guests. Thankfully, the Hilton Opera Paris checks both of those boxes and takes it even a step further. If you stay in any of the executive rooms or suites, you have access to an exclusive lounge. The executive lounge is very modern and completely different from the Grand Salon but the complimentary food and drinks that are offered throughout the day are very tempting. You’ll find plenty of snacks and refreshments at all times, as well as complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres every evening. There’s even a candy bar! Honestly, what more do you need?

Hotel rooms in Paris don’t come cheap – especially luxury hotels! But the rooms at the Hilton Opera start at 249 euros a night, and taking into consideration the amenities, spacious rooms, location, and five-star service… their prices are very fair. I saw quite a few guests who were celebrating anniversaries or big birthdays. I’d whole heartedly recommend the Hilton Opera Paris for anyone celebrating a special occasion or looking for a romantic getaway. There’s a timeless elegance here that you’ll find reflects the city as a whole! I cannot wait to return.

What are some of your favorite hotel experiences? Would you stay at The Hilton Opera in Paris? I’d love to know in the comments below!

Happy travels!

*Note: I did receive two complimentary nights at the Hilton Opera Paris. However, opinions are entirely my own. I would only ever recommend something that I actually enjoyed and support!

This is a lovely and elegant hotel in the charming city of Paris. The ambience of the hotel brings alive the very essence of Paris. Of course I am sure the hotel lives up to the brand promise of the Hilton name.

It’s definitely a place to treat yourself if you’re celebrating a special occasion! Some hotels in Paris are that price but look nothing like this and don’t have good amenities 🙂
